WOODHALL SPA Community Website
Woodhall Spa is a beautiful inland resort with an Edwardian character, set amidst
magnificent pine woods. Regarded as one of Lincolnshire's most attractive villages,
Woodhall Spa is famous for its peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The village has
a variety of attractions including two top class golf courses, the unique 'Kinema
in the Woods', Cottage Museum, Jubilee Park outdoor swimming pool and several aviation
heritage sites associated with 617 Squadron (the Dambusters). |
| The National Golf
Centre at Woodhall Spa is just across the road from
Pitchaway. Golf has been played in Woodhall Spa for over 100 years and
The Hotchkin Course has hosted most of the top national and international
amateur events. The English Golf Union acquired Woodhall Spa in 1995 with the
vision of creating a centre of excellence second to none, to be enjoyed by
players of all standards.

Steeped in history, the vibrant cathedral city of Lincoln is only a
half hour drive from Woodhall Spa and Pitchaway. There are many
attractions in the city and events such as the world famous Christmas
Market. |
| For those with an interest in the RAF and Lincolnshire's prominent
role in its history, the Metheringham
Airfield Visitor Centre is only ten minutes drive from Pitchaway.

There can be few more delightful places to enjoy a traditional
cream tea than at Holmdale House tea room, only ten minutes drive from
Pitchaway in the small village of Martin. Holmdale House also has half an
acre of gardens stocked with unusual hardy herbaceous plants, open to the
public, a nursery and a wonderful shop selling vintage glass and china. |

Only 20 minutes drive from Pitchaway is the historic town of
Horncastle. Renowned for its numerous and wide ranging antiques shops
Horncastle was voted Britains Best Antiques Town in the British Antique and
Collectable Awards.
